M10 Ballet Gala , Congress Center Zlín , A selection of scenes from the ballets The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, etc. Ballet belongs to art forms that naturally connect music, movement and visual component into a unified expressive whole. Its modern form was formed from the court festivities in France of the 17th century, associated with the name of Louis XIV, and went all the way to the great stage works of the 19th and 20th centuries. To this day, the art of ballet retains the ability to tell a story without words, to open up space for the meeting of musical and dance imagination, and thus appeal to audiences across generations. The program of the evening will offer a selection of representative numbers from the most famous ballets The Nutcracker and Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev. The dramaturgy builds on the contrast of lyrical passages, dance virtuoso scenes and dramatically heightened moments, which belong to the most prominent positions of the classical ballet repertoire and together create a plastic image of its expressive possibilities. The ballet gala program will be presented in the natural artistic cooperation of two Moravian centers - Zlín and Olomouc. The choreography was prepared by the artistic director of the Moravian Theater in Olomouc, Jan Fousek, the performers will be the soloists of the Olomouc Ballet Ensemble, and the conductor of this institution, Tomáš Hanák, will take care of the music. The orchestral part will be performed by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic. The extraordinary joint project of the two art institutions thus creates space for the meeting of a symphony orchestra and a ballet company in a program that presents classical ballet in a concert context as a unique and still alive form of music-dance theater.
